Morelia, Michoacan. Zuleyma Zaret, 29 years old, left her house in the municipality of Toluca, in the State of Mexico, last Friday, April 15, heading to Querétaro in the company of her partner. That same day she disappeared.
However, after a month without knowing his whereabouts, his lifeless body was found in a cabin in the municipality of Zinapécuaro, in Michoacán, without knowing until now how he got there and who is responsible for his femicide.
The Attorney General’s Offices of Michoacán (FGE) and the State of Mexico (FGJEM) are already working together on the investigation, but so far there are many unknowns and family and friends demand justice and clarification of the facts.
The same day that Zuelyma left her house, in the San Mateo Otzacatipan neighborhood, in the afternoon her relatives received a call from her partner stating that she had gotten out of the car on the highway.
From that moment on, the whereabouts of both were unknown, so their disappearance was reported, which led to the activation of the corresponding alert and search file.
The Attorney General of the State of Mexico requested the collaboration of corporations in matters of security and justice from other entities, including Michoacán.
On Thursday, May 12, residents of the town of Ucareo, municipality of Zinapécuaro, located the body of a woman in an advanced state of decomposition in the vicinity of a cabin, on a property located between Lázaro Cárdenas and Camino Real streets.
The body was wearing a pink blouse and blue denim shorts.
After being notified of the finding, the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office went to remove the body and transfer it to the Forensic Medical Service, where the legal autopsy was performed, which determined that the cause of death was due to a cranial contusion.
In the forensic tasks it was confirmed that it was the young woman who had disappeared in the State of Mexico for almost a month, for which the authorities of that entity were notified.
The Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office, through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Intentional Homicide Against Women and Femicide, indicated that it collaborates with the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico in the actions that allow the clarification of these facts.
