Vialidad recommends checking the status of routes before traveling

For this weekend, the Interjurisdictional Basin Authority (AIC) predicted the entry of a cold front into the province that will cause rain and snowfall in the mountains, so the provincial road authorities recommend caution when taking the routes.

In addition to the rains and snowfalls, a drop in temperature is expected during the weekend, which will generate ice on the roads. To prevent accidents, the Provincial Directorate of Roads asked motorists “to travel with caution and with daylight, carry chains and check the state of traffic before starting the trip.”

The forecast indicates that the climatic event will last until Monday or Tuesday of next week, then the temperature will rise again.

This Friday the route Provincial 13 between Primeros Pinos-Litran is passable with caution through pocked and muddy sectors. Meanwhile, Provincial Route 23 in the Litran-junction National Route 242 section is impassable due to the accumulation of mud on the road.

During the morning the Pino Hachado International Passage is enabled, passable with caution, due to rain and snowfall on the Customs-Border with Chile section, probable ice formation. It is mandatory to carry chains to transit through this international passage.

Meanwhile, Provincial Route 26 in the Loncopué-Caviahue-Copahue section is enabled, passable with caution due to wet asphalt. From Caviahue there are sectors with holes, mud and ice. It is also mandatory to carry chains to travel through this area.

In the north of Neuquén, Vialidad requests to circulate with caution along Provincial Route 43, between Chos Malal-Andacollo-Las Ovejas, due to wet asphalt.

Provincial Route 46 is enabled, although motorists are asked to be careful due to the wet asphalt. In the Cuesta de Rahue there are sectors with holes and mud. and also road teams operating to improve the route.
