      The first trailer has been released Predator: the pressthe new prequel Predator. The action thriller, originally called skullstakes place 300 years ago on the Comanche Nation. It is the first female-led film in the franchise, which will tell the story of Naru (Amber Midthunder), a skilled warrior who has been raised by legendary hunters on the Great Plains.

      Her camp is attacked by an unknown threat and she sets out to hunt down the prey, which turns out to be a highly evolved predatory alien. The alien confronts her abilities with technologically advanced weapons, leading to a vicious showdown that is foreshadowed in the trailer.

      The latest installment in the franchise is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison, and produced by John Davis and Jhane Myers, who is a member of the Comanche Nation.

      It was important to the team that Predator: the press provide an accurate portrayal of the Comanche to ensure the film was authentic to the indigenous people.

      Throughout her work, Myers is known for her dedication to producing films centered around the Comanche and Blackfoot nations, honoring the legacy of Native communities.

      The cast welcomes a number of First Nations and Native actors to the franchise, including leading lady Amber Midthunder, newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope.

      Last year, Davis told collider that the prequel would return to “what made the Predator original will work.

      “It’s the ingenuity of a human being who doesn’t give up, who is able to observe and interpret, basically being able to beat a stronger, more powerful and well-armed force,” he said.
