The National Bus Company and the ticket marketer Traveler have announced the reestablishment of a new transportation route between Havana and the municipality of Yaguajay.
Although the connection is between the capital and the town of Sancti Spiritus, it also benefits travelers from different parts of the west and center of the country. Especially from the provinces of Villa Clara and Sancti Spíritus.
“The Viajero reservation services company announces the reestablishment of the Yaguajay-Havana-Yaguajay route for the month of June,” indicates the information shared by the capital’s media.
As explained, the trips will restart in the coming month of June, with two weekly frequencies:
As of Sunday, June 19, the route will begin to make its round trips on the same day, maintaining the frequency of Thursdays and Sundays, leaving Yaguajay at 1:00 pm and returning from Havana at 11:00: 00 pm, he announced through his Twitter profile.
Interprovincial transportation on the island has suffered greatly in recent years. After a slight improvement that it experienced after the importation of Chinese vehicles of the Yutong brand more than a decade ago.
During the months of pandemic affectation, mobility between the different provinces and the country’s capital was limited, and now the intention is to gradually restore several of the routes that were suspended.
In Cuba there is a similar transportation service by bus, but that charges its tickets in Freely Convertible Currency. This is Viazul, where before you could buy tickets with Convertible Cuban Pesos (CUC).
However, recently the company has been a source of controversy, since, with the elimination of the CUC, it does not accept the national currency (CUP), nor the bank cards in MLC. Being only available for those who pay their tickets with foreign cards such as Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
