Netflix advances the first eight minutes of the fourth season of 'Stranger Things' and its even stranger broadcast strategy

Big advance to whet your appetite. Although there is little left for the premiere of the first chapters of the fourth season of ‘Stranger Things’, Netflix has wanted to generate expectation by slipping two surprises: its first eight minutes and a more precise explanation of how the content will be distributed, a formula with a cast of unusual times.

The advance, of almost nine minutes and advanced by Netflix itself, shows what Hawkins National Laboratories was like in 1979, the routine of Dr. Martin Brenner and… as a icing and to generate expectation, a violent episode starring Eleven, an event that is probably key to understanding the plot that develops throughout the fourth season.

As for the distribution of content, Netflix has opted for an unusual strategy, strange enough to honor the title of the series. Until now we knew that the season would be divided into two parts: the first will be released on May 27 and the second will be released on July 1.

Well, now Netflix has wanted to go a little further and has delved into the distribution of content and the duration of some chapters. The first volume, which will be released this month, will consist of seven installments; the second of only two. unbalanced? Yes, although with an important surprise: the last chapter, the ninth, will last more than two hourswith which it will surpass many films.

“Episodes 7 and 9 in particular are movies and 9 is a long movie… We’re still refining it, but we’d say it’s more than two hours,” the Duffer brothers explain to the envelope. Specifically, episode 7 would last 98 minutes, the eighth 85 and the ninth would already go to 150.

“A lot of the length has to do with the fact that we have characters spread across three locations and a lot more plot. It must be four times the plot of season 3. That was our fun blockbuster season. This we knew that Season 5 would be the last and we had to start revealing a lot of things ”, Matt and Ross Duffer abound.
