In interview with Vanity Fair, michael waldronscreenwriter of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, said it was a deliberate plan to leave unresolved the subplot about América Chávez (Xochitl Gomez) and her mothers, whom she lost as a child due to her uncontrollable powers. This she had to say about delving into the story of the young heroine:

Yes, that was my collaboration with Sam and Marvel. It is really about telling both the history of America in this film and trying to prepare a mystery that will be solved in the future. He’s someone with no family, so that’s what he’s looking for. And that’s what he finds at the end, surprisingly, with Wong and Doctor Strange. Find a home in Kamar-Taj. It was initially felt that we should hide some of it. It’s the kind of thing you’d rather answer when you get to America’s solo installment. But when we started to tell the story we wanted to know more about it.

In the movie, just like in the comics, it is revealed that young America lost both of her mothers when she accidentally opens a portal to another universe, as she can’t control her powers. At the end of the film, she begins to learn how to use them and does so in order to finally talk some sense into Wanda about how she has been corrupted by the Darkhold to kidnap her children from another reality.

Comic book fans know that Ms. America is a member of the Young Avengers, Marvel’s youth group of superheroes. Several of her characters have been introduced in recent years, but there is no officially announced project about this grouping. It is possible to imagine, however, that she is in the future plans for the saga.

There are no plans yet to see America back in the franchise. Since the film ends by joining the wizarding students, it is most likely that we will see her in the third Doctor Strange film, which was advanced in the post-credits scene in which Clea, another powerful magic user, is also introduced. she comes from another dimension to warn the hero that she has caused an “incursion”, that is, the collision between two universes and that he must help her to fix that disaster.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – 88% is already on the billboard. The next installment of the franchise to be released will be Ms. Marvel on June 8 on Disney Plus. In theaters, we’ll have to wait until July for Thor: Love and Thunder. So fans can rest assured that there will be much more to the saga in the second half of 2022.
