In a meeting with the Ecuadorian businessman Julio Molina, the president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaimán, expressed his support and endorsement of the nascent WBC Amateur Ecuador for its development.
In the meeting that took place at the offices of Sulaimán Asociados, in Mexico City, the senior leader of the World Boxing Council received from Molina a shirt of the Ecuadorian soccer team and gloves of the national brand, made in Thailand , DangerEquipment.
Molina, a skilled mixed martial arts (MMA) businessman, said that Sulaimán is “an eminence”, “an influential person” in the leadership of world boxing, and the fact that he has given his support to the WBC Amateur Ecuador gives him a very important endorsement for the country that will open many doors in this sport.
“We are going to organize many more events with the endorsement of the WBC,” anticipated Molina, who along with the president of the EMMA mixed martial arts league, Azuayo Gorky Rodríguez, are the Ecuadorian businessmen who have a WBC license.
Mauricio Sulaimán, a graduate in Business Administration by profession, in 2004 assumed the position of executive secretary of the World Boxing Council. On February 12, 2014, he was unanimously elected president of the World Boxing Council.
Before, in 1992, at the WBC he held the position of director of Public Relations and in 1994 he was elected vice president of the North American Boxing Federation.
According to Molina, Sulaimán promised to visit Ecuador very soon.
The WBC Amateur Ecuador, which was born at the beginning of this 2022, is organizing the third edition of a boxing tournament for next June 4 in the city of Quito amateur in men’s and women’s categories.
