I was from Imserso’s vacation with my wife from April 26 to May 3, 2022 in Lloret de Mar (Girona). The hotel was full of Imserso groups from all over Spain. Our group left Castellón. Groups of young foreigners (athletes) also stayed at the hotel.
When they give you the room, they tell you that your lunch shift is from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Breakfast is from 07:30 to 10:00.
The first day we entered the dining room I saw a huge, crowded place, where there is no ventilation. They control guest access but not which shift is assigned, so the capacity is full.
I told my wife: “If we don’t get Covid on this trip, we will never get it”. On the second day I started with a sore throat, fever, runny nose, cough… My wife took two more days to start having a sore throat, fever….
In the excursions that we signed up for, I already noticed that many people coughed on the bus. And of return to Castellón, on the bus many people had symptoms. The day after I returned home, my wife took the antigen test and I did the PCR and we both tested positive.
How many people are infected, will we have infected and will they be infected for 8 days?
I do not see the media echoing and stopping to analyze that Imserso trips are another means of contagion for the most vulnerable people due to their age, in addition to the fallas festivals, the April fair, etc.
It makes me sad, because they are the people who take care of themselves the most and who are inevitably getting infected without them knowing it.
What would you say to people who have booked a trip and haven’t gone yet? They have many chances to get infected.
