The emblematic Italian house has presented a new variant of its consecrated Hurricane. It’s about the version called Technicala model that presents a series of improvements with respect to the one it takes as a base.
The main settings show the elements that, in some way, define this brand. Among them stands out aerodynamic treatment. The design was revised, defining a inward-facing front end with muscular shoulders that joins the carbon fiber hood. The Terzo Millennio’s Ypsilon-patterned front bumper is new and incorporates an air curtain for the first time on a Huracán. A new front splitterWith lower, more open fins that direct air across the wheels, it helps improve downforce and cooling.
The profile of the car also differentiates it from the Huracán family: 610 mm longer than the Huracán EVOhas the same height and width, but appears lower and wider, with a silhouette inspired by the line of the Essenza SCV12.
The rear incorporates a new bumper with an optimized air intake; a diffuser painted in body color or optionally in black; and combines new hexagonal tailpipes that provide a lovely sound.
The fixed rear wing essentially contributes to the 35 percent improvement in downforce rear compared to the Huracán EVO RWD, as well as ensuring that it does not increase aerodynamic drag: in fact, it was reduced by 20 percent, which improves aerodynamic balance and promotes stability during braking and cornering speed. The Tecnica’s underbody was also optimized with new spoilers to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
The 20-inch Damiso wheels inspired by the Lamborghini Vision GT, they have a hexagonal design and are equipped with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires.
To push that stylistic beauty, Lamborghini engineers chose the new generation of the V10 engine, a 5.2 with 640 hp (the same as the Huracán STO, with an increase of 30 hp compared to the Huracán EVO) and 57.6 kgm of torque which are transferred to steered rear axle through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
With a curb weight of 1,379 kg, the Tecnica offers a weight/power ratio of 2.15 kg/hp.
The heart of this Hurricane is the LDVI (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) system, which controls all aspects of the car’s dynamic behavior by integrating vehicle systems.
The rear-wheel drive system incorporates the steer axle with a more direct steering relationship and torque vectoringtogether with a system of modified traction control (P-TCS) and a specific suspension setup for the Tecnica. It offers three driving modes: STRADA, SPORT or CORSA that adjust the parameters of the P-TCS, engine, transmission and suspension.
Thanks to this configuration, the Huracán Tecnica It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325 km/h.
These features are accompanied by new brake cooling management, inspired by Lamborghini’s experience on the circuits. The Carbon ceramic brakes adopt specifically designed cooling deflectors and caliper ductsdirecting the airflow towards the discs to maximize heat dissipation and reduce brake fluid temperatures: lower disc temperatures also promote brake pad wear.
for the driver
Inside, the height-adjustable sports seats the pilot is immersed in his cockpit. Other options include a lightweight door design; a back bow and titanium wheel bolts; Y seat belts with harness for those who go more regularly to the circuit.
A HMI interface redesigned is exclusive to Tecnica.
Driver’s instrument panel reduces colors and emphasizes legibility in a new, large arch in front of the driver. The screen in the center console makes available to the occupants of the passenger compartment the LDVI functions in real time displayas well as all connectivity features, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. Inspired by the STO, the HMI includes telemetry and a record of tracks and times achieved on them, all connected to the application called UNICA.
Standard and optional color and upholstery options lend themselves to both luxury-oriented and sportier specifications. Along with the eight standard exterior colors, there are over 200 additional paint options available through the Ad Personam program, as well as a new Alcantara interior upholstery specific to the Tecnica, and other exclusive options such as the designs and colors of the stitching and the embroidered Tecnica motif on the seat headrests.
