Cruise company Atlas Ocean Voyages will start operations in Panama

The Presidency of Panama informed that from the season of cruise ships 2022-2023, the shipping company Atlas Ocean Voyages, a cruise company in Miami, will start operations in Panama.

With this start of operations, the aim is to continue reactivating the country’s economy, being part of the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP).

On May 10, it was announced that the Norwegian Cruise Line will start operations from Panama in November.

Columbia Tours, official representative of Norwegian Cruise Line in Panama and Central America, reported on this beginning, that it will be embarking in the ports of Amador and Colón 2000 and the cruise season will begin on November 24 of the present year, it will run until March 21, 2023, and at least 18 itineraries will include the complete transit through the Panama Canal.

The ATP with its Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism (PMTS) 2020-2025, aims to strengthen tourism as a strategic economic sector of Panama, developing in this sense a sustainable model that generates an increase in employment at the national level, integrates communities, articulate the territories and increase the competitiveness of the industry.

The ATP points out that tourism plays an important role in strengthening Panama as a center of connectivity, conducive to attracting foreign investment and with a diversity of leisure activities for nationals and foreign visitors in the various destinations that offer cultural, natural and historical wealth. with the potential to meet the expectations of today’s tourists and provide unique and authentic experiences based on awareness of resource conservation and sustainability.
