Christian Demolition Man Rivas will have his second presentation of the year with Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico (UWC), when he returns to the cage on Friday, May 27 for a scheduled fight at 140 pounds.
The athlete has already been twice with the Mexican mixed martial arts (MMA) company and will seek to remain undefeated for the UWC 34 show.
Rivas’ debut took place at UWC 29, this on October 1, 2021, when he faced Mexican César Bañuelos, against whom he won by unanimous decision.
“From his first fight we saw that he had power and condition, although he was somewhat nervous in his debut with us, and it is understandable because he really had little that he had arrived in Tijuana. But I have had the pleasure of watching him train in the gym and it shows that day by day he is improving, and I think that was clear when he showed up a few weeks ago for the second time with us”, explained Alejandro Islas, the president of the UWC , according to statements collected in a statement.
Islas pointed out that Rivas will be the co-star of the evening in duel catchweight at 140 pounds, three rounds of five minutes each and sanctioned by the Tijuana Boxing and MMA Commission.
For UWC 32, Rivas was back in the cage against Colombian Juan Pablo Mendoza (4-4-0), and here greater maturity was already noted since he was able to stop him in just 65 seconds by technical knockout.
At just 28 years old, the Ecuadorian has already been in professional MMA for six years after debuting on October 14, 2016 against Aaron Rajman (2-3-0) and winning with a guillotine in the second round.
Now he is going for his third turn in the UWC cage, against the Mexican Ramón Vizcarra, and with the determination to continue his rise as one of the main fighters in North America, both at 135 and 145 pounds.
The main duel will be for the company’s flyweight championship with the monarch Soslenis da Silva Carvalho (14-11-0), from Vaginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil, against the challenger Joao Camilo Neto (7-5-1) , from Aparecida de Goiânia, Brazil.
UWC 34 will be on Friday, May 27 at the Entram Gym facilities in Tijuana, Baja California, with eight professional fights on the program. They will be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass starting at 5:00 p.m. local time (7:00 p.m. Ecuadorian time). (D)
