Bariloche aims to recover meeting tourism

For years, EMPROTUR and the Municipality have been working to promote Bariloche in each of its segments: Argentines, foreigners, regional, students, Chileans, Brazilians, and also in terms of holding events and meetings in this city. .

Beyond not having the already sadly famous Congress and Convention Center, the number of activities in closed venues that take place in Bariloche is enormous, due to the marked interest in visiting these lands by visitors and the growing number of private rooms. , hoteliers and events that has been born.

However, the pandemic hit this segment hard due to the impossibility of gathering many people in the same space and worse if it was in a closed place. With the openings, both in this city and throughout Argentina and the world, it gradually returned to normality and today, the cannons are once again aimed at this public.

Along these lines, days ago Bariloche promoted itself with its own stand in Buenos Aires, in the second edition of Meet Up Argentina, the benchmark event for the meetings industry in the country and the region.

Diego Parodi, Trade Director of EMPROTUR, was the representative of our city at the fair, who highlighted that Bariloche offered services completely adapted to each need in terms of congresses and conventions.

He stressed that our city has meeting rooms in the most beautiful natural settings in the world, professional services, first-rate infrastructure and technology, an international airport with regular flights, international-level hotels and excellent cuisine with the best chefs and the most delicious Patagonian flavors.

Once the fair was over, Bariloche invited five well-positioned international operators in the segment to get to know the city, see everything it has to offer in this area, and consider it for future events.

Río Negro was also being promoted, with a broader offer and with the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Martha Vélez.

For San Carlos de Bariloche, meeting tourism is very important. In 2020, the International Meetings Tourism Association (ICCA) released its statistics, which placed our city eighth in the ranking of holding events.

Of course, due to its size, importance, connectivity and infrastructure, Buenos Aires is the national destination that leads this table of positions. But our town is in full growth and even surpassing Mar del Plata, which obtained ninth place.
