Carlo Ancelotti wanted to cover Gareth Bale’s back in the press conference prior to the duel between Atlético and Real Madrid this Sunday, starting at 9:00 p.m. at the Wanda Metropolitano. The Welshman made headlines last weekend for not being present at the Bernabéu against Espanyol, despite the fact that those not called up must go to the stadium during the matches. He was also not seen on the pitch afterwards, celebrating winning the League, nor did he go to Cibeles with the rest of the team.

During the afternoon, and in view of the fact that the controversy on social networks was served, with comments of all kinds pointing out the distance that exists between the Welshman and the rest of his teammates, Bale came out on his personal profile: “I am very disappointed that I will not be able to participate in tonight’s celebrations due to a back spasm., but I am very proud of the team for winning the title. Enjoy tonight guys!”

In the case of Bale, it rains on wet. He already argued back problems for not playing the Clásico, and days later he participated without problems with his team in the playoffs to try to get Wales to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, also scoring two goals. But Ancelotti wanted to avoid problems and controversies in this regard and supported Bale’s version to miss the 35th League celebrations.

Waiting for the end of Bale

“Everyone loves Bale. He wasn’t there because he couldn’t move. It happened to me, when your back is blocked you can’t move. If he’s okay, he trains like us. It’s not that he’s distant, it’s that he can’t move.”explained Ancelotti, when asked if the distance between Bale and the rest of the dressing room is as great as it is perceived from the outside.

Ancelotti does not usually speak ill of any player, he was not going to break that rule in this case. But the reality is that at Real Madrid they consider that Bale is past, they are waiting for his contract with the club to end on June 30., to thank you for the services provided and close this stage, which was very good in the first half and terrible in the last. Without going any further, this season Bale has barely played 290 minutes over seven games, scoring one goal. Very little for the highest paid footballer in the squad, with a net salary of 15 million per season.
